Terms and Conditions

Riders ride at their own risk. Whilst everything is done to ensure safety Travelling Horse Holidays cannot be responsible for the personal actions or injury to you or your horse or property, or injury/damage to third parties and their property.

Vehicles

Vehicles parked on private property at your own risk.

Riders

Riders must be insured for third party/public liability – copies of insurance must be sent with the deposit and will be returned with a receipt/confirmation of booking.

Every rider must be confident that his or her horse can travel a minimum of ten miles in one day. (maximum daily distance is approximately 20 miles of undulating/mountainous countryside).

Every rider must be a competent rider. Younger riders under 18 years of age are accepted and must be accompanied by an adult they know and are not the responsibility of Travelling Horse Holidays. We would not accept riders under 10 years old.

Payments and cancellations

Payment – a non-refundable deposit of 10% is required with the signed booking form.

Full amount payable 1 month prior to commencement of your holiday – non-refundable.

Cancellation - In the event of you or your horse being unable to fulfil your holiday prior to its start date Travelling Horse Holidays will rebook another date at no extra charge. We can only offer this once.

Special Diets - Travelling Horse Holidays will endeavour to cater for special diets with prior notification.

Accommodation

Travelling Horse Holidays works with, but has no direct control over accommodation suppliers and grazing (or stabling) and it cannot have or accept any liability for their actions or omissions, or for anyone employed by them. If you find that you have any dispute with the suppliers of such services, Travelling Horse Holidays will give you any reasonable help to resolve the dispute.

Route changes

Route – Changes of route may occasionally be required due to an obstruction. The routes are ridden regularly to ensure usability but it is beyond the control of Travelling Horse Holidays and cannot accept liability, but will attempt a deviation round the obstruction.

Route maps

If going un-escorted and using Route Maps and notes, Travelling Horse Holiday assumes you are capable at orienteering. The information provided will be clear to follow. Should you deviate/get lost from this route you will be expected to pay any additional costs incurred.

Worming-In consideration to other horse owners your horse must be wormed at least 48 hours prior to the holiday. It would be preferred if your horse is vaccinated against the flu virus and tetanus.

Pub Stops – if a pub lunch stop is included in the ride you will be required to pay for your own alcoholic drinks. Travelling Horse Holidays will pay for your food up to £10 total per person. The rider must meet any extra cost incurred.
